Checklist for Moving

1. Before moving, you should open a local bank account. It is safer to have the bank transfer your funds.

2. Bring your personal papers in the vehicle with you.

3. Evaluate your furniture and household goods to determine whether you want them in your new home

4. Make a list of everyone who is effected by your moving and notify them by US Mail.

5. Call at least three moving companies to get estimates. Remember the cheapest isn't always the best! Arrange for packing cartons for items you pack yourself and, pack them ahead of time. Don't forget to insure valuables.

6. If you are packing or moving yourself. Educate yourself on proper lifting techniques. Invest in a good back brace. Sometimes its cheaper to pay a professional than paying a doctor and suffering the pain

7. Make travel plans well ahead of time.

8. Use up existing food supplies.

9. Arrange for utilities for you new home. Notify current companies of your shut off date.

10. Have a vacuum and cleaning supplies handy. Put them on the truck last.

11. Relax and enjoy your new home!
